Reel Him In Sugar Cookies

Servings: 3-6 dozen, depending on size

INGREDIENTS

1 cup vegetable shortening, not butter flavored

1/2 cup sugar

1/2 cup brown sugar

2 eggs

1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

2 teaspoons pure almond extract

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon salt

2-1/4 cups flour

1/2 cup sugar for rolling (you can use colored sugar if you'd like)

DIRECTIONS:

1. In a large mixing bowl, beat shortening and sugars until well combined.

2. Beat in eggs and extracts.

3. Beat in soda and salt.

4. Beat in flour.

5. Roll dough in 1/2" to 1" balls, roll them in sugar, and place them 1" apart on lightly greased cookie sheets.

6. Bake 8-10 minutes in a 350 degree oven. Cool on cookie sheet for several minutes before removing.
